The final goodbye for us exchange students

Technically my birthday party was meant to be the last hurrah

…but there was no way we were not having one last event

So, despite the fact that we all had finals/should be studying/sleeping/should be sick of each other. We did one. last. night.img_1486-e1545479781852.jpg

It was the 18th. the goal? spend one great last night with my fellow exchange students Michaela, Kate, and Flo. Use this time to say goodbye to each other and to all our freshmen friends who have made our time here so special. then stay up until midnight (the 19th) so i could at least spend a few moments with my lemons on my actual birthdayimg_1498

Once everyone arrived, we first started by giving gifts to say goodbye to the other exchange students, (we organized gifts for each of them to remember their time here)img_1478

we then began to say our goodbyes. first the four exchange students

then we took photos with our friends one by one (there are more photos with Neil and Nick,  I just cannot seem to find them)

Adam specifically was told to wear the same shirt as Kate, Flo, and I, so we could all twin- it turned into one giant love fest

lots of fun was had

It was a great last night.

And whats the best way to end a crazy/fun night? with something even crazier. say… like someone breaking their finger?

Our boy Flo got his finger stuck in the door as it was closed, which resulted in his thumb getting broken.

I am writing this a couple days post the event, and so by now Flo has had surgery on his thumb. Hey Flo, I know you read my blogs so I just want to say we’re thinking of you.

And to all my lemons, thank you for such a wonderful semester. I can not imagine it without you guys. You are what made this study abroad experience so wonderful. Yes Scotland is stunning and gorgeous, the accents are great and the people nice. The buildings are even pretty cool (and all of them 200 years older than my country). But really, all my amazing memories are attached to spending time with you. Even in the times we were doing nothing, just sitting around and talking. In those times when we ended up laughing like crazy, or concocting crazy plans that we 75% of the time shouldn’t have gone through with (odds?). That was how I knew we had a good thing going. And that is why I know that someday, somehow, I will see you guys again. Whether here in Scotland, in the States, or who knows where, we will make it happen, and we will be able to jump right back into this wonderful friendgroup which I am proud to call My Lemons.
