Touch Rugby, Socials, and my adventure plans for the future
So here at Edinburgh, their main form of social groups are in the forms of clubs or societies. Clubs are mainly sport related, while societies can be anything (ranging from a harry potter society to a debate society). I have joined far too many, of both: field hockey, touch rugby, mountaineering, hill walking (their version of hiking), debate society, Christian Union, and so on.
Last night I went to the Touch Rugby social which was a pub crawl. The photo below was the one they had up to welcome us in.However, instead of being a normal pub crawl, it turned out to be a challenge related one. Which meant my friends and I were put on a team, got neon yellow paint all over our faces, and ran around the city at night screaming and having a blast. Here is a photo which I took with my friends (and photo shopped another in who did not make it into this photo).
From left to right there is me, Nick (an American), Adam (the photoshopped Scott), Kate (a Canadian) and Tino.
I would like to say my team won but quite honestly I have no idea because at the end of the night, our resident Scot was rejected from the final pub because even though he is the only one of us who is actually Scottish, his form of ID–a young Scott card–keeps getting rejected. So my friends and I just went to our own bar and had a good end to a good night.
In other news my bank account is in pain because in the last 3 days I have purchased tickets to
1) A bus tour of the highlands
2) A weekend trip to the isle of Skye
3) A week long trip to Germany for Oktoberfest with my friend Dario
4) A weekend trip to Prague
5) A weekend trip to Barcelona
wow.
this is what I was hoping for when I decided to study abroad 🙂
ps. it is very windy here
