Glasgow (Hozier and football)
What do I have to say about Glasgow? It was rainy.
Fun Fact: this weekend was actually the first plan I ever made with friends upon reaching Scotland. Even though it is one of the last things I got to do while here.
Anyway, we got to Glasgow Friday afternoon and first headed to the airport to pick up Michaela’s cousin Carly who was in for the weekend visiting. After picking her up at the airport, we dropped our stuff off at the hostel and then went and saw Hozier in concert.
*notes about the concert: yes he is just as good as you would imagine, possibly even better, he performed all the songs I could have hoped for including but not limited to a solo acoustic performance of Cherry wine, Jackie and Wilson, Someone New, Like real people Do, Shrike, Take Me to Church, Work Song…
Oh and he is insanely tall. Like 6′ 5″ or something.
The next day we grabbed a yummy breakfast before Michaela and Carly headed back to Edinburgh.
Claire and I then hung out around Glasgow before meeting up with Flo, Kate, and Adam. The five of us then went to a Celtic football match. Luckily even though it was raining we got to sit in a covered section. It was a great match, with the final score being 4-1, we won and we got to see some really fun goals)
I had lots of fun at the game, however poor Claire was stuck between Kate and Flo and Adam and me. haha. Oh and Claire and I got some Celtic gear.
Happy I finally got to check off a legit football match of my bucket list
Afterwards Kate Flo and Claire returned to Edinburgh and Adam and I got to explore Glasgow. For those who do not know, football teams are highly controversial. So whenever we went into a pub we had to remove any club gear that we were wearing. We ended up grabbing food at a chippy before leaving and I have to admit, I think Glasgow may have better chippy’s than Edinburgh… but Edinburgh has less rain sooooooo, really I still side with the capital
