Finally a weekend home
I feel like I haven’t actually had a weekend in Edinburgh for a long time. So it was a relief when I was actually here this weekend.
First off, THE SUN BEGAN TO SET AT 3:30!
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW WRONG THAT IS?!
By 5 PM here it is so dark it feels like its 10 PM, but that being said, the city is GORGEOUS because everything is lit up. Also, just want to share my favorite plaque in Edinburgh:
Okay also, does Kate’s bruise not look like Shakespeare?!?!
Okay back to the weekend. It started on Friday when Michaela turned in her essay that she had been stressing about over for the whole week. We used this as an excuse to get everyone together and celebrate in the afternoon. Flo has some German friends visiting so they came along too, and we spent a fun afternoon together
After this Adam left us to go home for the weekend and the rest of us went home and took a day nap. I literally died. At one point Claire came in and Michaela and I just passed out and fell asleep before she left. However, that night we all rallied and went out together to show Flo’s friend the city. We ended up at this pub which was 99% middle aged men and 1% university students singing Queen songs at the top of their lungs Then on Saturday my study abroad program UCEAP had a thanksgiving event for all students studying at Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London. We had a really tasty meal, got to go on a tour of the Vaults in Edinburgh, then went to the play Shakespeare in Love.
They also had a photo competition for people to send in 7 photos sharing what they are thankful for. I sent in a couple photos and actually won! This was my submission
Honestly I really just want to thank the friends I have made here because it’s all thanks to them that I have these great memories.
Then on Sunday, I attempted to do homework–and of course I was unsuccessful at that. So instead we went to the Christmas market
