Dakota gets a year older and a merry merry Christmas

Since my birthday is near the end of December, I asked my friends if they would celebrate it early with me this year so I could spend my time with them. They agreed, but since we do not have much time left in the semester, we squished my birthday celebration together with our Christmas/Secret Santa.

(BTW: Fairy Tale of New York song is apparently the ultimate Scottish Christmas song)

We had birthday dinner at Weatherspoons… honestly I do not know how I have not had Weatherspoons before that day, to quote Neil, “Weatherspoons is a British past time”. Its cheap. The food is good. and pitchers are only 8 pounds.

Next, my friends tactfully delayed me while half of them ran back to the dorms. When I arrived they were not finished, and since our room was the wrapping room for secret Santa, Adam and I had to stand out alone in the hallway while the pantry was set up and Flo wrapped in our room—but it was so worth it. I walked into Mambo No. 5 blasting, a cupcake tiered Christmas tree, a confetti birthday cake, and brownies 😊

I then received the most amazing birthday gift I could have asked for from these people. They compiled a photo album of our time this past semester, and everyone wrote in it notes to me about our time together and random comments on different photos.

It was beautiful.

We then had our Secret Santa. It was randomly assigned a couple weeks back by a computer, but as it turned out, it was extremely rigged. For example: I got Michaela, my roommate; Kate got Flo, her boyfriend, George got Claire W, Claire W got Jack, Flo got me, Claire D got Eleanor, Eleanor got Adam. It was a great mix

And the gifts were amazing. I think each gift was special to the person who got it. Each time someone opened their gift everyone was just beaming with smiles at seeing it.

Since Michaela is our resident Historian who gives us history lessons, (for those wondering its based off a YouTube series and it turns into Flo and Michaela just telling us fun random facts about the event). So I personalized a shirt for her which included a lemon in the lower corner. Flo gave me the ultimate guide to our past semester, including but not limited to kings cup (ring of fire flat 4 style), the Appleton tower challenge, and different recipes.

Michaela and Flo then gave us the history of Santa Clause

And the Michaela Flo and Adam performed the dance scene from Mean Girls (this was priceless to watch)
