Wrapping up my time in MA with a change in hiking shoes, more cookies, a chance to bike between towns, and climb the highest peak in the state.

The rain is starting to get to me... but dotted within the misery of the rain have been some truly memorable people and experiences!

Connecticut: It was beautiful until it was shrouded in rain and fog (Plus my trail name reveal!)
Day #: 36 Miles Since Last Update: 38 mi. Total Miles Hiked: 467 mi. Miles Remaining: 1,711 mi. Connecticut was a short, and tumultuous time in my AT life. As you can see from the title of this post, I spent a short amount of time in this state, and my experience in this short time was quite varied. Connecticut was the start of a few things for me. Also, I realized while writing this post that I never informed you all, but I have stuck to a trail name now for over 100 miles! Maybe it will stick with me for all the rest of the AT too! Ironically,…

Friends Along the Trail (pt.II) and the Birth of the Hamburger Helpers
I previously wrote on the great experience I had in getting to, spending time with, and leaving my friend in New Haven, CT. Well only a few days later I was blessed again with an amazing off-trail experience. A few years back (more years than I’d like to admit), I studied abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. I Need Your Help Writing My Next Post
I’ve been hiking the Appalachian Trail as a Flip-Flopper, solo woman, in my mid 20’s for around two months now. I know that there are many of you out there who may identify with one or more of these qualities and who may be interested in hiking the AT in the future. So, I would love to update all of you with how it is going for me (more than just by telling you of my day-to-day experiences). Right now I plan to write about things such as: How has my fitness progressed? Is it lonely being a flip flopper? Have I felt safe as a solo woman? Have I…

New Jersey: Days 23-26
I have two questions for you, my readers: While I believe we can all agree that there is a "Northern" New Jersey and a "Southern" New Jersey… is there such a thing as "Central" New Jersey? and on that note… which is correct: Taylor Ham or Pork Roll? These are the questions that have plagued my mind since visiting NJ and I must hear your thoughts…

Delaware Water Gap: Days 21 & 22
Delaware Water Gap is a small town in Northern Pennsylvania, and I believed that my time there deserved a post unto its own.
